General Information

This site provides information for the MVZ community on computer and network support. Requests for support should be posted through the forum or by email (See Request Support) and will be handled by our computer resources staff in the order received, except in cases of emergency. All users should read the Policy page before requesting MVZ computer support. In addition, users are responsible for security measures on their computer (see Networking and Security).

XServer Services:

The Museum maintains an Apple G5 Xserver which provides basic services to the MVZ community. These include:
(1) dynamic ip addresses
(2) roaming user profiles (PC, Mac)
(3) application serving
(4) printing
(5) data storage (5-10 GB per user account)
(6) authentication server
(7) backup server
(8) fire wall service
